Martin Shkreli, the former pharmaceutical executive who raised the price of an anti-parasitic drug from $17.50 to $750 per pill, was banned from the industry for life in 2022. The FTC and seven state attorneys general now say he's spent nearly the entire four years since his release from prison flouting that ban—trading stocks in dozens of drug companies and publicly discussing pharmaceutical business decisions during livestreams, most recently through a $10 million trading account launched in June 2026. They're asking a federal judge to hold him in contempt and force him to divest his pharmaceutical holdings and pay financial penalties.
