Star-Studded Drama: Franco, Lowe, Leigh Set for Ben Shapiro-Written Film 'Confession'...

Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire is building a film slate with increasingly prominent actors despite—or sometimes because of—their controversial histories. The studio's latest project, Confession, reunites Academy Award nominees James Franco and Jennifer Jason Leigh alongside Rob Lowe and others for a Stalin-era thriller written by Shapiro himself. Franco's casting follows his 2021 settlement over sexual exploitation allegations; Leigh's participation signals ideological alignment after she publicly supported Israel's military response to Hamas. The pattern extends to earlier Daily Wire productions: Jonathan Majors joined after his 2023 assault conviction, while Danny Trejo's participation in another film sparked backlash over its ICE-officer storyline, forcing him to clarify his pro-immigrant stance. Confession arrives November 11 in limited theaters before streaming on The Daily Wire.
