PLANE VANISHES: Six Missing After Aircraft Loses Contact Off Nantucket...

A small aircraft carrying six people disappeared off the coast of Nantucket while en route to Boston, with controllers losing radar contact during what should have been a routine flight. Search-and-rescue operations typically mobilize within minutes of such disappearances in this heavily monitored airspace near major Northeast population centers, though the Atlantic waters and variable weather conditions around the Massachusetts island can complicate recovery efforts. The circumstances—how contact was lost, the aircraft type, and last known position—will be central to determining whether the incident involved mechanical failure, weather, or pilot error.
