AI APPS RELEASED: Google Helps Developers Distribute Personal AI Apps via Play Store...

Google is expanding AI-generated app creation by letting people built custom apps in its AI Studio tool, then directly share them through the Play Store without needing developer accounts or technical setup. Private apps stay visible only to you; sharing with a small group of friends bypasses Google's review process entirely. Scaling beyond that "small group" requires converting to a full developer profile and submitting to standard app store guidelines. The rollout ties into Google's broader Play Store overhaul, which now includes Game Finder—matching Android's 1.2 billion players based on gaming preferences—and an expanded Ask Play chatbot for AI-powered app discovery.
