PARTING WAYS: Symphonic Metal Band Nightwish Splits With Singer Floor Jansen...

Floor Jansen, who sang for Finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish since 2013, has departed the group in a mutual split announced Thursday. Jansen fronted three studio albums during her tenure, most recently 2024's Yesterwynde, but will now focus on her solo career and a new album called Hytress arriving in 2027. Nightwish—formed in 1996 and led by keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen—plans to enter the studio next year to record a new album with an unnamed vocalist, marking the band's third lead singer change across its three-decade run.
