My Chemical Romance Plans New Album In 2027, Gerard Way Confirms...

During their final Hollywood Bowl shows this month, My Chemical Romance announced they'll step away from touring throughout 2027 to record a new album, with hopes to return to the road in 2028. Frontman Gerard Way framed the studio work as a direct response to fan loyalty, saying the band owes listeners another record after the devoted following kept them alive during their hiatus. It's been over a decade since their last full-length release—2010's *Danger Days*—though they did release the standalone single "The Foundations of Decay" in 2022. The confirmation caps off an extended reunion that began with their 2022 comeback and has included a lengthy tour cycle.
