INFERNO AT CFB WAINWRIGHT: Four Dead, Dozens Hurt in Military Base Blaze...

A massive fire at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright in Alberta killed four service members and critically injured dozens more on Saturday, marking one of the most devastating incidents to strike Canada's armed forces during peacetime. The blaze erupted during live-fire training exercises and spread rapidly across the facility, which serves as one of the country's primary training grounds for combat operations involving live ammunition and ordnance.
The fire began in a grass area roughly a kilometer from the main training range where infantry units were conducting exercises with grenades, small arms, and other munitions. Unusually strong winds caused the flames to shift direction and advance toward the administrative section of the attack range, overwhelming local emergency response capacity and forcing the hospitalization of dozens of personnel. Officials have ruled out terrorist activity and other external causes, with investigations ongoing into how the fire originated and spread so quickly through active training zones.
