SAVED: Firefighters Rescue 'Godfather' Church From Raging NYC Warehouse Blaze...

A four-alarm warehouse fire at 6581 Hylan Boulevard in Staten Island on Saturday evening threatened the Church of St. Joachim and St. Anne, the 18th-century structure whose façade appeared in "The Godfather's" baptism scene. More than 200 firefighters contained the blaze in the five-year-vacant building by 8:30 p.m., preventing flames from reaching nearby schools and the church itself—which had already survived a devastating 1973 fire. One firefighter sustained a minor leg burn.
